Follow My Direction

Don’t just do what God says.  Follow His direction.

Following God’s direction means more than simply doing what is commanded.  Following direction involves the manner in which you do what has been commanded.

Parents understand this truth.  A child can be told to do something like: Pick up your room.  Well there are an infinite number of ways that a room can be picked up.  A child will select the least time and energy consuming way to get it done.  While you certainly want your child to be intelligent and work smart, it is most important that they do a job right!  The right way to pick up their room is the way that you taught them through years of instruction.

So a child can do what they are told or they can follow the direction they have been given.  The results of these two very different actions will end up being vastly different in their achievement of your desired objective.

There are obvious reasons why we, as God’s children, do not follow His direction.  Fear, laziness, complacency, rebellion, pride - the list could go on for a long while.  The bottom line?  We must choose to do what God says in the manner that He has shown us or we risk missing the blessing of obedience and the victory that comes from our obedience.
