God Has A Birthday

Praise the Lord Jesus that He chose to be born into our world! We can now celebrate His birthday.

Our God has a birthday!  Think about the ramifications of that truth.  The Almighty God, Who holds eternity in His hand, has a birthday.  There is a day - a particular time in the fabric of the temporal - which marks the birth of our God as a natural being.  There is a time in the history of man when God, the one Who holds history, entered the annals of those born of the flesh. 

The timeless became bound by time.  The Infinite assumed the finite.  The Great Spirit took on the physical.  The One beyond natural law subjected Himself to the laws of nature. The Creator stepped into the corrupted version of His creation.  The one Who knew no sin, no imperfection, took on imperfection and carried the sin of all mankind.  

Of course, He always possessed the power to overthrow the world and the natural laws that influence it.  But He chose not to.  Rather, Jesus Christ chose to submit, intentionally subjecting Himself to the fraudulent dominion of this world and the systems man created to prop it up.  He chose to be one of us, so that He could be with us, eternally.  He chose to be born so that we could be reborn.  Not of this world, but born of His Spirit which frees us from the penalty due, breaking the power of sin and death in our lives.  

Our God has a birthday because He chose you.
