Prosper Us
Prosperity is so much more than monetary value.
What is truly desired in this earthly existence is real prosperity. When a person comes to the end of their walk on the earth, whether it is a long walk of many years or a just a little while, their desire is to have lived prosperously.
Some will equate these words with riches. While this can certainly be part of the equation, it is not the sum total. Some may factor power and influence in when it comes to a prosperous life. Again, this may be part but it is not everything. Others may believe that integrity is a show of great prosperity. This is good stuff but it is not the whole.
A truly prosperous life is one that is lived in the knowledge and understanding of God and His Word. Of course, since we now have a new covenant due to the sacrifice made by God through His Son, Jesus Christ, we understand that to know God and His Word is to know and understand the person of Jesus. This is where true prosperity lies.
In the book of Joshua, the Jews were told to know and understand the “Book of the Law”, God’s holy, delivered and revealed word. Today we are instructed to know and understand Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of both the Books of the Law and the Prophets, delivered and revealed for our salvation.
Know and understand the person of Jesus Christ, meditate on Him day and night, do not let His precepts and teachings leave you so that you will be careful to do all He has shown you to do. In this you will make your way prosperous with good success.
