Have You Talked to Your Father Yet?
When you pray, you are literally talking with God, the One who created all things.
I understand that this is not new info for most, but I think it is important to refresh our understanding of what we are doing from time to time. The Word of God instructs us to bring our anxieties and “cast” them on God (1 Peter 5:7). It says that God cares for us.
So we bring our worries and petitions to God through pray and we literally pray to God! That is mind blowing. Think about it for just a second. We are asking the Creator of all things for help. “I need money to pay this bill, God. Please help me.” When you pray this you are talking to the One who is described as having “glorious riches” (Philippians 4:19) and “windows” to be opened for the pouring out of blessings to those who are faithful to ask and faithful to believe. (Malachi 3:10)
When you pray, “Lord, I need healing”, you are talking with the One true God who has performed so many miracles that according to John, who was with Him, if all were detailed in writing “even the world itself would not contain the books”. In fact, you are praying to the One who formed you in your mother’s womb (Psalms 139:13). In fact, you are praying to the One who was unjustly put to death in order that you might be healed - in spirit and in body! (Isaiah 53:5)
When you pray, you are talking with God. The Bible instructs us to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) Jesus Christ, our High Priest and the only God that can truly sympathize with man’s condition since He is the only One willing to leave His glory to be suited in man’s shame, has provided for us an open door, a way to the throne of God through grace. Our Father in heaven awaits our arrival. He awaits our petitions and the believing hearts of His children move Him.
When you pray, you are talking with your Daddy - God. Jesus, teaching us to pray, started with “Our Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:9). The Word of God also states for all those who received and believed Jesus, “He gave them the right to be children of God…” (John 1:12) So when we cry out “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15) we are in fact crying out to our Daddy in heaven Who created all things, has all power and loves us unconditionally. There is no petition too small and no problem too great. Your Father has the power to work it out for your good!
So back to my question, Have You Talked to Your Father?
