Psalm 126 is a psalm of hope. This one was written after the first Jews returned from captivity in Babylon, hundreds of years after King David wrote the early psalms found in the Old Testament book of Psalms.
This psalm is a testimony to God’s faithfulness. It declares the joy the people of Israel felt when the captives returned. It proclaims the goodness of God in turning sorrow into joy. Have no doubt and be not afraid. What you have sown in tears, you will one day reap in joy!
