Success Stored for You

According to Solomon, our Father God has wonderful this stored up for your success!

As a father, I cannot imagine how marvelous it would be if I could store up success for my children. It would be fabulous to store, like cans of vegetable soup in a pantry, all that my children need to succeed! While I am far from being able to do such a thing for my kids, according to Proverbs 2, this is precisely what God does for the upright.

Who are these “upright”?: the righteous in God. No person is righteous except through the only righteous Savior, Jesus Christ. But those who receive Jesus Christ have been given the right to become the children of God. We are God’s children through the sacrifice made by the Righteous One, Jesus Christ. Our belief and confession of Jesus as Lord immediately, and without works or the law, gives us adoption into the family of God. That is the best news ever spoken.

But there is indeed more! God, gracious and abundant in love, stores success for His children. Our minds may wander to such things as cash in the bank, life insurance policies, stocks in a company, or any other form of potential worldly gain. While these may indeed be part of the success mentioned. God is not limited by our minds. He scoffs at our temporal conceptions of success. What Proverbs 2 is referencing is true gain: Real Success!

God, in His infinite wisdom, has stored the favor you need in every situation. He has the protection and providence you need daily, all stored up and ready on the shelf. God has the guidance for life’s decisions, the peace in times of trouble, the right relationships, the forgiveness you need to give and receive, and so much more for your success, all stored up for you, faithful believer. It waits for you at the ready. So, how do you get it?

Before answering that question, it is crucial that we understand that all good things come to us in due time. We also must understand that a good father will not withhold what is good for his children. As Jesus told us, “If we, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more does our Father in heaven know how to give goodness to us!” So, my encouragement on receiving the success that is stored for you by a loving Father God is to ask Him, from a contented heart. While believing that God is wise enough to know what is good for you, ask Him. Then wait. Without bitterness or impatience, wait on your Father to answer.
