The Furnace, Jerusalem
The Lord God will protect Jerusalem. The works of man and the actions of her enemies will not cause Him panic. God does not fear. He is not confused.
He is steadfast and strong. His wisdom prevails. God will protect Jerusalem.
But Jerusalem will be a furnace to the nations, a hot point, a testing ground. Jerusalem will be an agent of breaking down, burning up and identifying true motives.
Like a furnace melts and purifies metal, so will Jerusalem be a place where God purifies the nations. That which is corroded will be identified and that which is corrupt will be burned out. That which is just and right will be tested and made pure.
